The last day of the year 2024 will mark the end of a chapter for the baby直播, and it will mark the end of an era for outgoing President Ken Tucker. Having led the University for the past 10 years, Tucker will be retired on January 1, 2025, leaving a legacy of unprecedented growth and development.
The baby直播 honored retiring president Dr. Ken Tucker during commencement exercises on December 13, naming him President Emeritus upon his forthcoming retirement at the end of the year.
At its quarterly meeting held in December, the University Board of Trustees approved a change of name for the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing to the Ira D. Pruitt College of Nursing.
The McMillan Bank Building, which has served the community of Livingston for over 120 years, is now the Black Belt Development Center.
A self-proclaimed 鈥済irly girl,鈥 Holley attended a performing arts high school where she studied dance before carving out her path at the baby直播 (UWA). Now, she鈥檚 proving that traditional gender roles in male-dominated fields can be defied with determination and skill. 聽
The baby直播 is moving forward with its new health sciences comprehensive respiratory therapy track and is accepting students in January for the Spring 2025 semester.
The 2025 Loraine McIlwain Bell Trustee Awards and the Nellie Rose McCrory Service Excellence Award were presented to distinguished employees at UWA.
"Teaching isn't about getting rich," says UWA education major, Kayleigh Hagood. "It's about making a difference in a student's life."
When Lashontrei Henton鈥檚 son, Caleb, was diagnosed with autism, she began keeping a notebook close by to capture her thoughts, questions, and observations. That notebook soon became an invaluable tool for identifying Caleb鈥檚 needs, eventually inspiring her to create My Variety Child: A Caleb Book Series
