UWA President Ken Tucker
The last day of the year 2024 will mark the end of a chapter for the babyÖ±²¥, and it will mark the end of an era for outgoing President Ken Tucker. Having led the University for the past 10 years, Tucker will be retired on January 1, 2025, leaving a legacy of unprecedented growth and development.
The babyÖ±²¥ honored retiring president Dr. Ken Tucker during commencement exercises on December 13, naming him President Emeritus upon his forthcoming retirement at the end of the year. Tucker is the first in the institution’s history to be recognized as president emeritus.
At its quarterly meeting held in December, the University Board of Trustees approved a change of name for the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing to the Ira D. Pruitt College of Nursing.
The McMillan Bank Building, which has served the community of Livingston for over 120 years, is now the Black Belt Development Center.
