So, what鈥檚 next? Let us help you with one of the most important decisions you鈥檒l ever make. No matter what kind of information you need, we鈥檙e here for you at every step of the process. Below, we list the key 鈥渘ext steps鈥� in your journey, those that will help you reserve your place at UWA!
Set Up a Campus Visit
If you haven鈥檛 been to UWA鈥檚 campus yet, it鈥檚 time to schedule a visit! As you make your decision, one of the most important things to consider is fit: Does UWA fit your life and do you fit in on campus? The best way to know is to visit in person and see for yourself.
During a tour, you will be able to speak with an Admissions Counselor, speak with a student ambassador, see the amazing dorms where you鈥檒l live and tour our beautiful facilities.
Confirm Enrollment
Now is the time to confirm your plans to become a UWA Tiger by paying your $200.00 Enrollment Confirmation Fee. This one-time fee confirms your spot in the incoming class and covers items like your housing application, orientation registration and scholarship acceptance. You won鈥檛 have to pay anything else before your enrollment.
Sign Up for Orientation
Furthering your education by attending college is a major step. For many people, it鈥檚 the first time to live away from home. There are new responsibilities and an important adjustment to the academic demands of college.
To help you be successful, we require all incoming students to go through our Go West Orientation. At orientation, you meet different departments on campus, as well as people from a huge variety of student organizations. You鈥檒l even get the chance to register for your classes.
Apply for Housing聽
After you pay your Enrollment Confirmation fee, you鈥檒l need to apply for housing. 鈥嬧�媃ou can find what you need to apply here.
Complete Your Financial Aid
Even with UWA鈥檚 great affordability, more than 89% of our students qualify for some type of financial aid. Our Financial Aid Office is here to help you apply for the many types of grants, scholarships, and loans that we have available.
One of the most important steps you can take is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Before you begin, gather your financial information, including all income and asset information, federal tax returns, etc. For the 2024 academic year, you will need your financial information from 2022. The priority deadline is May 1. You鈥檒l also need the UWA school code: 001024.
Complete Your Admissions File
After you鈥檝e completed the steps above, make sure the Admissions Office has everything we need to complete your file. Now is the time to request a copy of your final transcript from your high school, including your graduation date. Have your school mail it to the Admissions Office. You will also need to complete the medical/immunization requirements, as well as the scholarship application, if you have not already done so.
