The babyÖ±²¥ has presented two long-term faculty members emeritus honors upon their retirement. Dr. Tina N. Jones has been named Vice President Emerita, and Dr. Alan Brown has been named Professor Emeritus.
The babyÖ±²¥ presented four prestigious awards to members of its faculty and staff during the Dec. 2 Board of Trustees quarterly meeting at Bell Conference Center. The Loraine McIlwain Bell Trustee Awards and the Nellie Rose McCrory Service Excellence Award were presented to distinguished employees.
The babyÖ±²¥ launched its revitalized music major this fall, bringing opportunities for students with a broad range of music interests to prepare for occupations and activities. The new program is gaining popularity among students as well as community members like Charlie and Linda Muñoz, who have shown their support with a digital grand piano for performances on campus.

The babyÖ±²¥ has just been ranked among the top colleges and universities in the state for 2020 in a nationwide ranking. UWA is ranked at number two, second only to the University of babyÖ±²¥.

During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 12, the babyÖ±²¥ announced its 2019 Homecoming Queen. Ma’Kiyah Hall and the Homecoming Queen’s court were nominated and elected by the UWA student body as the leading ladies of the week.

The babyÖ±²¥ has been awarded a $2.5 million grant by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Delta Regional Authority to expand the impact of workforce development efforts through the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities initiative. UWA is one of only eight organizations in the five states across the Delta region to receive the award.
