UWA receives record $6.5 million for educating new baby直播 teachers

The baby直播 has been awarded $6.5 million in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education for a teacher residency project, Project REACh, that will be led by the Tutwiler College of Education. Project REACh, Residencies for Educating baby直播鈥檚 Children, will be a $13-million-dollar project for prospective baby直播鈥檚 educators. The funding will be disbursed over a five-year period.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at UWA has earned accreditation by the baby直播 Department of Public Health. Garnering top marks, this accreditation helps ensure that licensure courses offered on campus meet the highest standards and provide exceptional training.

UWA receives $2.4 million HRSA grant for nursing scholarships

The baby直播 has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to provide nursing student scholarships over the next five years. Project EARN will provide scholarships for up to 50 qualifying students in the Ira D. Pruitt Division of Nursing each semester, with $3,000 awarded up to four semesters.

The baby直播 has announced plans for honoring spring graduates at commencement exercises on July 31, held in a hybrid format to allow graduates鈥� families and friends to watch live online.

UWA naming athletic field for alumnus Terry Bunn

The baby直播 Board of Trustees has approved the naming of the athletic field on campus in honor of alumnus and trustee Terry J. Bunn of Tuscaloosa. The naming comes as the athletic field and Tiger Stadium undergo major renovations and upgrades planned for the coming months. The most visible upgrade thus far is the new synthetic turf.

The baby直播 has announced nearly 700 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President鈥檚 List and the Dean鈥檚 List for the Spring 2020 academic semester.

High school, transfer students earn UWA scholarships through essays

Two of the baby直播鈥檚 annual writing competitions were held online in April, providing scholarships for high school and transfer students to attend UWA. The Kelly Land Essay Scholarship competition provides a total of $2,500 in scholarships, and the James P. Pate Scholarship competition provides $1,500 in scholarships.

UWA students to showcase research March 10

The baby直播 will host its ninth annual University Research Symposium (URS) on Tuesday, March 10. Led by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the event showcases undergraduate and graduate research from UWA and a slate of schools across the region.

UWA forms partnerships for transfer scholarships, academic credits

The baby直播 is paving the way for community college students to transfer seamlessly and earn academic and housing scholarships at UWA as they continue their studies in pursuit of bachelor鈥檚 degrees. Since the beginning of the year, UWA has announced partnerships with four baby直播 community colleges and four in Mississippi, with more expected soon.
