Brandon L. Hollis of Carrollton, babyÖ±²¥, received the babyÖ±²¥â€™s top graduating student award at fall commencement exercises.
When Matt Gurley moved to Livingston in 1996 to play football at the babyÖ±²¥, he had no inkling he and his family would develop intrinsic ties to the university and the community they now call home.
An insatiable appetite for learning led first generation college student Zaria Gulley to the babyÖ±²¥, and a future in public health.
babyÖ±²¥ eagerly waited in line for the annual Tiger Career Fair to kick off Tuesday, Oct. 17 in the Student Union Building (SUB) at the babyÖ±²¥. The all degree fair is held each fall. Almost 200 students filed in the SUB over the course of the three-hour fair to speak to potential employers, engage in networking and gain resources from Career Services.
During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 14, the babyÖ±²¥ announced its 2023 Homecoming Queen, Shelby Baggett. The Homecoming Queen and court were nominated and elected by the UWA student body.
Imagine visiting a home in Guatemala or bartering for food in Uganda without ever leaving the country. That’s exactly what 37 UWA students had the opportunity to experience at the simulated rural Global Village and Urban slum at the campus of Southern Institute for Appropriate Technology (SIFAT) in Lineville, babyÖ±²¥ in September.
The babyÖ±²¥ has announced nearly 700 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 academic semester.

Dalton Meador, a sophomore at the babyÖ±²¥, is unabashedly proud of his academic major. He fancies a career in health care, and he enjoys sports. Athletic training fulfills both desires.

By her own admission, babyÖ±²¥Â sophomore Emily Foxhall adores beauty pageants. They’re an inseparable part of her life, though she’s not sure how many she’s entered. Her estimate: somewhere between 40 and 60, if not more.
